When I called him the next morning, he has already reviewed my X-ray and offered to meet me at the hospital for further consultation. I was impressed with the thoroughess of his review. He even picked up some minor and hardly visible injuries I sustained 4 years ago! Once I decided to go for the surgical option, he worked closely with the hospital and my insurance company to allow the operation to proceed in less than 24 hours, even over the holiday weekend. He explained all the details before and after the surgery so I was fully informed. The bone fixture was very nicely done. The pain was well under control and I was able to stop pain killer within 2 days. During post-surgery recovery, Dr. Grey came to the hospital and examined me everyday and whenever upon my request. He was very personable, friendly and professional. He also provided me a very clear medical report for the treatment along with a very clear follow-up plan for the next 12 weeks. Dr... read more Grey made time for a telephone consultation and plans were set into motion. We travelled to South Africa for a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty surgical procedure. When we met with Dr Grey, we were impressed by the thoroughness of his assessment. He spent time explaining everything in minute detail, counselled us on all options available, sent us for a specialized bone scan to ensure that the previous infection had been cleared and he left no stone unturned, before proceeding with surgery. Considering the severity of the surgery, my partner is recovering extremely well with very little pain, only two weeks post surgery. Admittedly I had been putting this off for quite some time, so by the time I got to see... read more Dr Grey the pain was quite acute and the calcification quite entrenched. Dr Grey opted for the non-invasive irrigation approach first, which went as well as could be expected but the prospect of success could not be determined and he could not rule out the need for surgery (not something I was keen on during COVID). He recommended we persevere with cortisone treatment for pain and discomfort and encouraged as much free movement of the shoulder as I could. Fast forward 9 months later, all the calcification has disappeared and progressing well with rehab to let normal service resume. A great experience, with a great surgeon and genuinely nice person. I would recommend him to anyone looking for holistic approach to issues of the shoulder.
